Fishing in El Nido is one activity that will leave you coming back for more. A lot of fishermen brag about their exploits, but there are not that many who can say that they have been fishing in one of the most beautiful island destinations in the world – El Nido, Palawan.

Fish like a pro, fish like a local and fish with the locals.

Fishing in El Nido

The great thing is that Palawan Alternative organizes private fishing charter tours to various locations in the waters of El Nido. Our custom fishing tour lets you sail into the deeper waters of the sea with some of our seasoned fishermen to catch a variety of fish. You can catch Spanish mackerel, yellow fins, red and white snappers, tuna and barracuda.

We offer various fishing tours to suit your interests. Bottom fishing in El Nido is the most popular among the locals, this is where you get to drop a nylon line with a hook, weight and bait down to the seafloor in the deep waters. Or leave the town at night to catch some squid in the nearby waters. This is done with a line and bait that will catch the squid that feeds at night and ascend from the deep. Trawling is the third option for fishing, this is where a line behind a moving boat is dragged into the deep blue and wait until you catch some big game.

This tour is not only for the pros and fishing enthusiasts out there. This activity is also ideal for families and people who want to experience more of Palawan, the local way. This day activity can include snorkeling and beach landings, but the primary focus would be on fishing. You’ll also have the well-deserved meal on board. Have your own fresh catch cooked, grilled or fried, you decide!

Make sure to bring your own towels, change of clothes, swim attire and your own snorkelling gear. And please let the guides know if you cannot swim, there are life vests available on the boat for everyone.

Maintain a 3-meter distance from the reef. Please help preserve the beauty of El Nido’s marine life by not touching or stepping on the corals while snorkelling. There are dangerous organisms that thrive on the coral reef.
